este es el proceso completo de instalación que he tenido que seguir para poder hacer correr el VMware 5.5.4 en mi Ubuntu Feisty, espero que a alguno os sea de utilidad.
1) Primero descargé el fichero VMware-workstation-5.5.4-44386.tar.gz
2) Luego lo descomprimí en una carpeta /home/david/programas/vmware-distrib
3) Ejecuté el script de instalación:

6) Descomprimí el fichero en otra carpeta y ejecuté el script del propio parche sudo ./runme.pl
